Families Flock to Camp Read A Lot

Dozens of families descended on Columbia Valley Elementary School on Friday, March 17, 2005, for the Camp Read A Lot literacy event. The evening's campy theme included faux campfires, a forest of fake pine trees, and a paper creek complete with colorful fish. For snacks, volunteers set up a pair of s'more stations, where those in attendance could eat the sweet treats until they could take no more.

Mike teaches second grade at Columbia Valley, and his assignment for the night was to photograph the families and volunteers in attendance. A gallery of the pictures is expected to appear in the front hallway of the school.
